Exploring Security Roles in Enterprise IT, IoT & Cyberphysical Systems
Content

This semester is for you if you want to contribute to a more secure world, either by taking the first steps in becoming a cyber security expert or by learning security practices that make you a security aware professional in a different ICT domain.

This new topic is offered from February 2026 onwards.

Activities

During this semester you will explore different security roles and domains by working on hands-on challenges. This allows you to get a good insight in the world of security and experience how universal security principles can be applied in different domains such as enterprise IT, IoT and cyberphysical systems.

The security roles you will explore are closely related to these ENISA roles:

  • Legal/Policy/Compliance Officer
  • Digital Forensics Investigator
  • Cyber Security Implementer
  • Penetration Tester
  • Cyber Incident Responder

In addition you will gain solid, foundational technical skills that prepare you for the technically challenging main and advanced cyber security semesters.

To support your learning we have curated a selection of recommended (online) security resources and on top of that we offer workshops.

The semester content has been selected in collaboration with security experts and is tailored to suit beginners. However, if you have prior experience in the field, we can discuss customized adjustments to better match your level.

Inflow & Outflow

There are no prerequisites for this semester, other than a finished start semester.

After completing this semester successfully you will be well prepared for the Cyber Security Attack & Defend main semester.
