Why? As we are connected to the people we care about, make futile or important decisions and get many things done with the help of technology. To design technology is to shape daily life. How do we want to live in the future? How do we ensure that technology helps us, improves and supports our lives, in a meaningful way? The future may be hard to predict, but by designing it we can give it direction.
You will improve your skills that are important to solve issues of the future: Human Centered Design, Augmented & Virtual Reality, Intercultural Communication, Critical Design, Storytelling, Media in the Digital Society.
Your minor enables you to work on complex challenges in many professional fields. By looking at issues from an international perspective and by cooperating with international students you can see the broader context and better understand the impact of designs. The minor covers technology aspects like 3D graphics, visualisation and IO-devices/systems, human aspects like behavior, presence, illusion and design aspects like content, interaction, animation.
The minor DXD is closely associated with the lectorate Interaction Design. Students benefit from the extensive professional and research experience of the lector and researchers, and the availability of specialist teachers. In addition, partner companies of the lectorate collaborate with students and teachers in order to provide meaningful educational context. This way, you are learning about doing applied research and building new ties with the professional community. The language of the minor is English.
