The TU/e offers four pre-master programmes at the department of computer science.

Each programme contains of 6 courses at the TU/e. The selection of the courses depends on your intended Master program.

There are Mathematics requirements to enter the pre-master. This means that you have to complete the Basic Mathematics Course 2DL00 at TU/e. For more information see below.

Courses are given once a year in the September (Fall) semester, so a good planning in advance is advised.

Each pre-master’s programme totals to 30 credits. The number of credits and courses of the pre-master program of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence is decided on a case-by-case basis.

Admission

You are admitted to this specialisation when all these requirements are fulfilled.

  • you must have passed the mathematics course 2DL00 at the TU/e
  • you grades must be excellent (outstanding) or good
  • you provide both a motivation letter and a recommendation letter to the pre-master coordinator
  • the pre-master coordinator has given a positive advice

Enrollment
Besides the enrollment in the Fontys administrative systems ("ProgressWWW"), you have to be enrolled at the TU/e as well. Enrollment for the TU/e is executed by the pre-master coordinator, Georgiana Manolache. Contact her in an early stage to ensure a smooth study plan (e.g. at the beginning of your 5th semester).

Enrollment for this pre-master: open in September, closes January 1st every academic year.

Mathematics Course 2DL00

This mathematics course at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e) is required to enter the pre-master. This is an in-person evening course given at the TU/e. The 2DL00 course is only given in the February semester.

The costs for the course basic mathematics are € 100. You will receive an acceptance mail from the TU/e to pay this. If you register and do not participate before the course, the full amount will be refunded. If the course has started, TU/e can no longer provide compensation.

A reader will be made available digitally to you for the course. You have access to a hard copy of the book ‘Adams & Essex, Calculus, A complete course, Pearson, Ninth Edition ISBN 9780134154367,’ in R10 3.48. Mind you, it is >1000 pages.

You have to enroll via an external registration link provided by the pre-Master coordinator. Contact her in an early stage to ensure a smooth study plan.

Enrolment deadline of this course: 1st of January (every year).

This course does not lead to any credits that are transferable to your Fontys ICT bachelor.
