Have you ever dreamed of creating smart systems that that matter?
This advanced semester focuses on enhancing your embedded software engineering skills by engaging in real-world research challenges from partner companies and our research groups.
Imagine developing the next-generation self-driving car, a robot that helps the elderly with household chores, automated disassembly systems for reusing scarce materials, or a battery management system that extends the lifespan of truck batteries. These are the kinds of challenges you could be tackling!
This semester focuses on performing authentic, methodically structured, professional tasks, which contribute to new insights for the professional field. The focus is on learning, by carrying out research and development activities, within applied research challenges. You are primarily responsible for setting up and monitoring your own learning path.
Throughout the semester, you'll collaborate with a group of students to tackle a research challenge from a partner company or one of our research groups. Additionally, you'll work on a personal project of your own choice.
The semester is concluded by the Innovations Insight Fair, at which the results of all research projects are presented to a large audience of students, visiting companies, research groups etc.
To prepare you for this semester, you need to have finished a main semester and an internship, that both cover a good balance of hardware interfacing and software competences.
This semester prepares you for the graduation semester.
